How to Read RiyalRate.com: Freshness Colours, Best Rate and Your Calculator

By the RiyalRate.com team ·

Where the rates come from

The rates on RiyalRate.com are reported by users, people who sent money from Saudi Arabia and noted the rate they were offered. They are collected in a spreadsheet, shown on each country page and sorted from the highest to the lowest rate. They are a reference, not a guaranteed offer, which is why every row shows when the rate was last reported.

What the freshness colours mean

Next to each rate you will see a coloured label showing how long ago it was reported:

The colours do not mean a provider is good or bad. They only tell you how recent the report is, so you know how much to trust the number.

Using the best rate and the calculator

The box at the top of each country page shows the highest rate currently reported. Type an amount into the calculator and every row shows how much your family would receive. Tap the swap button to calculate the other way round, the amount of riyals you would need to send for a target amount at home. Remember to subtract any fee your provider charges.

Help keep the rates fresh

If you see an old or wrong rate, press "Update new rate" next to the provider, enter the rate you were offered and send it. Reports are checked before the displayed rates change. The more people report, the more useful the site is for everyone.

You can also share a country page on WhatsApp with the share button, switch to dark mode, and make the text larger using the controls at the top of the page. The site is also available in Hindi, Urdu, Malayalam, Bengali, Nepali and Tagalog.
